Overcoming anger

“Mom! You didn’t get mad at us today!” Oh praise the Lord!!! What a wonderful thing it is to be joyful while we homeschool! We had a great day. We had a great week. Except for Monday. We started out terribly, but His mercies are new every morning! Great is Thy faithfulness!

I don’t know how to tag, or address the writer of this blog, so I just copied the link directly onto my post.

The only way to overcome anger, whether it is while homeschooling, disciplining, dealing with difficult people, is by the Word of God. I was just encouraged by this post, knowing I’m not alone in getting, mad, upset, disappointed, sometimes furious with the kids while we homeschool.

I really can’t do anything about the condition of their hearts but to pray for them and to pray for myself as well. It is only the Lord who can truly change their hearts.

But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. – Psalm 86:15

8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9 He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.
10 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
13 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him. – Psalm 103:8-13
